The Kenai site is an Eco-friendly private wilderness lodge with three 16 foot Yurts on 13.5 beautiful acres in North Kenai Alaska. The site has a pond on it and there is plenty of wildlife and scenery to be enjoyed. The Kenai site is less than a 3 hour drive from Anchorage and just 20 minutes away from the world famous Kenai River. The site is semi remote and fully accessible by paved road except the last 1/10Th of a mile gravel road. Local attractions include awesome fishing and charters, bear viewing, sight-seeing,whale watching, white water rafting, and kayaking. This is the perfect place to make your home base for exploring the Kenai Peninsula.

Our yurts are circular, Mongolian-style domed tents 16 feet in diameter with plywood floors, hardwood lattice sidewalls and a clear Plexiglas skylight. These fully insulated shelters are designed to withstand high winds, snow loads and summer heat. They have a framed-in lockable wood door and windows with screens and storm flaps. Covered entirely by waterproof canvas, the yurts are an aesthetically pleasing and comfortable place to stay, even in the dead of winter.

Things you might want to bring:

Sleeping bag or blanket. This you need. Yes both yurts have a source of heat but Alaska summers can be chilly.

1 or 2 one pound bottles of propane. We leave at least 2 bottles in each yurt but you never know if the person before you wasn't kind enough to replace what they used.

A cooler for drinks/food.

Water -- yes you have access to water but you might want some bottled water instead.

Deck of cards or some games. Sorry we have no TV's.

Bug spray. You should already have this if you have spent more than one day in Alaska.

All of our yurts are made locally here in Alaska by Nomad Shelter in Homer Alaska.
